Whitewash

whitewash
our attempt to hide flaws
a weak effort at the pristine
a feeble reach toward beauty
only to discover a quick fix
a slow fade
and blemishes highlighted
the painters bandaid
the politicians friend
and the enemy
of an artist.

Lord, bless each and every one of the amazing artists I get to work with in this coming week of inspiring other artists to innovate. Holy spirit, give them an energetic peace as they give of themselves and sound the call. Thank You for the gift of being on a team that refuses to whitewash the greatest story ever told.

" . . . when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash, therefore tell those who cover it with whitewash that it is going to fall. Rain will come in torrents, and I will send hailstones hurtling down, and violent winds will burst forth. When the wall collapses, will people not ask you, 'Where is the whitewash you covered it with?'" Ezekial 13:10b-12

Thanks for letting me hang out with you and Lauren for a little bit today. It was a good way to end a stressful day.

Great thoughts as well. I'm so good at trying to cover my flaws.
